Fluorescence. Here the different
types of Ultraviolet Energies are defined, as well as an in depth look
at
the Cause of Fluorescence:
what actually happens to create such intensely vibrant colors.
The Second half of the Museum Booklet
deals with the exhibitions in the Museum itself, including the
Fluorescent "Participatory" Environment,
the displays of Fluorescent Minerals and Fluorescent Mineral
Artwork from the 1950's, and the
Ultraviolet Artifacts on display in the Museum including antique
Fluorescent Paint Sets from the
1950's and one of the first Ultraviolet lamps from 1932
called the "Argon Bulb."

This a signed and numbered
29 page book with 38 color photographs of "Common Items that are Fluorescent,"
like the normal Green Pepper, Cucumber,
Tomato, Lettuce, and Onion above on the cover of the book, which turn
to bright Reds, Blues, and Yellow
in this photograph taken with the Black Light.
All the photographs in the book
of all the "Common Items that are Fluorescent" are presented with a photograph
in
the White Light and a photograph
in the Black Light, to demonstrate the dramatic change of Color that these
very common
items display when simply put under
a Black Light in the dark. There is a general explanation of this
fascinating phenomenon
of Fluorescence included in the
book.
Just as an indication of the amount
of "Fluorescence All Around Us," everything that is Organic is Fluorescent,
ranging in color and intensity
from the bright Red Fluorescence of Green Peppers, Cucumbers, Kiwi, Zucchini,
and certain
Sea Shells, to the very common
White Fluorescence of your own Fingernails, Teeth, and Eyes.
After photographing 20 fresh Vegetables,
19 dried or prepared Foods, 10 Fruits, 8 Spices, Teas, Tonic Water, Tobacco,
Flowers, Train Tickets, Stamps,
Store Receipts, Concert Tickets, Fishing Line, Glass, Marbles, Plastic,
Pigment, Sea Shells,
Coral, Sand, Sea Weed, Trees, Petrified
Wood, Lichens, Moss, Cloth, Amber, Diamonds, Emerald, Turquoise, Lapis
Lazuli,
Zircon, Sapphires, Pearls, Rubies,
